I was drawn to the profession of medicine at a young age. My father was one of the founding fathers of Clinical Laboratory. It was his dedication, hard work and care for the patient that served as my inspiration to become a pathologist.
After graduating from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine, I began my career as a medical doctor in the U.S. Army stationed at a hospital in Germany. From there, I trained as a pathologist in Colorado. I find pathology extremely interesting. Working with physicians and laboratory professionals is rewarding and enjoyable. I truly believe the service we provide the doctor is unmatched. I always knew I would come back to Rapid City to practice. I was raised here, and know from personal experience what a great place it is to grow up. I want that for my children. Many of my family members also live in Rapid City, and I’m glad to see my children growing up with their grandparents and cousins. Getting outdoors to enjoy the Black Hills is what I like to do in my spare time. Golf and hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter are some of our family activities.
