Due to a planned retirement, Clinical Laboratory of the Black Hills is seeking a full-time, FP Board certified (or eligible) pathologist to join our practice. Fellows are encouraged to apply!
CLBH uses a coroner system for death investigation and FP would function as independent contractor in this situation. No Scene investigations. Tremendous case variety, with 190-220 complete autopsy examinations per year. Imaging system on site.

Manage a dynamic and diverse caseload, including approximately 30,000 surgical cases annually, 8,200 dermatopathology cases, 1,600 non-GYN cytology cases, and 4,000 Pap smears.

Pathology Lab Assistant (Tech Gross)
We are currently looking for a Pathology Lab Assistant (Tech Gross) that performs non-pathologist (tech gross) processing specimens, provides assistance to grossing personnel including verification of case integrity at all points during the grossing process. Accessions specimens, assists with the preparation of surgical and dermatology specimens for processing, provides assistance on phone calls regarding specimen, plus other support functions.

***No experience is needed - on the job training provided. But candidate must have education requirements.***
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
The laboratory director may delegate the dissection of specimens to non-pathologist individuals; these individuals must be qualified as high complexity testing personnel under CLIA 88 regulations. The minimum training/experience required of such personnel is either:
1. An earned associate degree (or above) in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology obtained from an accredited institution,
OR
2. Education/training equivalent to the above that includes the following:
60 semester hours or equivalent from an accredited institution. This education must include 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses, OR
24 semester hours of science courses that includes 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination, AND
Laboratory training including either completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the ABHES, NAACLS, or other organization approved by HHS (note that this training may be included in the 60 semester hours listed above), OR at least 3 months documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing. This full-time position offers a competitive pay range of $20.00 to $24.00 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package.
